AMSlab hosts the signing of the agreement between the Xunta de Galicia and the Galicia Health Cluster to boost Galician biotechnology

Today we had the pleasure of welcoming to the facilities of the AMSlab Group the Regional Minister of Education, Science, Universities and Vocational Training, Román Rodríguez, and the President of the Galicia Health Cluster, Rocío Mosquera, on the occasion of the signing of a collaboration agreement aimed at strengthening the competitiveness and international projection of the Galician biotechnology sector.

The event was also attended by the territorial delegate of the Xunta in Lugo, Javier Arias; the director of the Galician Innovation Agency (Axencia Galega de Innovación), Carmen Cotelo; the manager of the Galicia Health Cluster, Iván Rarís; and the CEO of the AMSlab Group, Manuel Lolo.

The agreement, promoted by the Xunta de Galicia and the Galicia Health Cluster, will involve an investment of €350,000 until 2027 and aims to further position Galicia as a benchmark in biotechnology applied to health, one of the strategic areas for innovation and scientific development in the region.

The signing took place at our facilities in Lugo, where attendees were able to gain first-hand insight into some of the technological capabilities, research lines, and services we develop at AMSlab in areas such as health, the pharmaceutical industry, veterinary science, and the agri-food sector, all under a One Health approach.

Among the actions included in the agreement are initiatives focused on technological and international market intelligence, the promotion of knowledge transfer, the identification of funding opportunities, and support for Galician companies in addressing the challenges of artificial intelligence. In addition, strategic studies and international missions will be promoted to strengthen the presence and collaboration of the Galician biotechnology ecosystem at a global level.

During the visit, Román Rodríguez highlighted the role of AMSlab as one of the leading companies in the Galician biotechnology sector and emphasised the group’s innovative and international capacity as an example of the R&D&I developed in Galicia.
