Initiative to promote local volunteering

Christmas is one of the most beautiful times of the year and at AMSlab Group we always like to bring out our most charitable side.
This year we were thinking about what we could offer, we wanted it to be something precious for everyone and that could also make a significant difference in the lives of those who need it most…

So we came up with the idea that the best thing we can give away this year is our TIME.

As part of our CSR policy and our commitment to society, we are launching an initiative to give a boost to local volunteering, in which part of our team will collaborate with several NGOs and associations in the province of Lugo with volunteering actions.

Red Cross, Cogami, and Down Lugo, are the entities that are part of this initiative that aims to raise awareness and involve the people of Lugo in volunteer actions, whether they are punctual with the Christmas campaign, or prolonged in time.

The actions to be carried out are very varied and each person can choose the one that best suits them. From offering talks or training workshops to people with some disability, with Cogami; accompanying people with Down syndrome to carry out a programmed activity, with Down Lugo; or accompanying elderly people who live in a situation of loneliness, with the Red Cross of Lugo.

With this initiative, we aim to encourage anyone to bring out their most caring side and participate in one of these actions to do their bit for a more humane society.

“With this initiative to promote local volunteering, we want to facilitate and bring closer the options available through entities that ensure the integration of vulnerable groups. We know that there is often a desire to “want to help”, but that sometimes it is difficult to take the step or simply that it is not prioritized due to day-to-day tasks”, says Paula Giao, head of Communication of the AMSlab Group, which participates in this initiative.

The campaign will also be published on social networks with the hashtag #VoluntariadoLugo, to gain visibility so that it can reach more people and encourage people to participate.

“As part of our CSR policy, we work closely with NGOs and associations. We promote healthy habits and support sports clubs through sponsorship; we encourage scientific and educational dissemination through talks, guided visits to the laboratory, etc. and we are also committed to society through this type of humanitarian actions”, explains David Seijas, Head of the Group’s Human Resources Department.

But our humanitarian concern does not come from now…. In the AMSlab Group we have already carried out and participated in a multitude of solidarity initiatives, such as last year’s Christmas campaign in which, with a video recorded by the employees, we raised funds to help the homeless in Lugo with the purchase of overnight accommodation kits; the “Pedaleando por Sonrisas” campaign, which also raised money, in this case for the Theodora Foundation, which is responsible for bringing smiles to children who are hospitalized; training talks for people with disabilities, campaigns to collect food or bottle tops, as well as actively promoting scientific dissemination with guided visits to the laboratory for schools and students of specialized cycles.

As a sign of this commitment, the companies of the AMSlab Group recently received the CSR Seal from the Xunta de Galicia’s Responsabilízate program. This seal provides a differential value that recognizes their commitment to society and the environment.

From the AMSlab Group we would like to call on citizens of all ages to show their most caring side and dedicate a little of their time to those groups that need it most.

Suppose you want to know which are the activities in which you can collaborate. In that case, you can contact us through info@ams-lab.com or directly with any of the entities that participate in the initiative indicating that they come for AMSlab’s campaign to promote local volunteering.

We wish you a Merry Christmas full of SOLIDARITY!
